He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Barton and Dora Crisp Barton; his granddaughters, Lori, Lynn and Linda Bettes; and his sisters, Bernice Crabtree and Mildred Hirringler.

He is survived by : his wife Helen Joan Brackett; his daughters, Diane Eidson (Mike), Debra Barton, Dana Barton (Eric) and Daisy Pinkston (Randy); his brothers, Floyd Barton (Evelyn) and Thomas "Bill" Barton (Dot); his siblings-in-law, Johnny and Freida Brackett; his grandchildren, Shonna Wall (Brandon), Amber Uder (Chris), Daniel Bettes (Kasen), David Vaughan Tara (Ashley), Austin Pinkston (Haley), Trenton Pinkston (Tessa) and Hayden Pinkston; and his great grandchildren, Matthew Wall, Lane Uder, Cole Uder, Kolton Bettes, Hadley Bettes, Tyler Vaughan, Ryan Vaughan, Cora Pinkston, Walker Jennings, Lily Gunther and Keaton Mizer. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Shadel's Colonial Chapel (1001 Lynn St, Lebanon, MO 65536). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 at the McBride Cemetery.
