He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Leonard Buckner, Sr. and Fannie Frances Buckner (Shobe); his wife Doris Cheatum-Buckner; and his siblings, Earl Leon Buckner, Milton Thomas Buckner and Joyce Elaine Buckner.
He is survived by: his children, Rossnette Cheatum, Lena Cheatum (Roy) of Columbia, Felicia English of St. Louis, Missouri, Corey Coates (Karen) of Columbia, Missouri and Ackren Cheatum (Tammy) of Columbia, Missouri; and his siblings, Paul of Sedalia, Missouri, David of Sedalia, Missouri, George of Sedalia, Missouri, Stevie Buckner (Kaylene) of Sedalia, Missouri, Gloria Buckner of Jefferson City, Frances Jackson (Charles) of Sedalia, Mary Buckner of Sedalia and Doris Lyons (Derrick) of Baltimore, Maryland.. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members.
