She was predeceased by: her father Edward Hines; her son Shawn Michael Sumner; and her aunt Donna Burry. She is survived by: her stepmother Carol Hines (Dillon) of Mexico; her significant other John Ehrhardt of Columbia; her daughter Brittany Sumner of Palm Bay, Florida; her sister Dianna Eastman (James) of Fulton; and her stepsiblings, Charlie Gard of Columbia and Cheryl Hardt (Mike) of Columbia. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
