He was predeceased by: his father Eli Elder; his sons, Eddie E. Jeffries and L. Allen Jeffries; his sister Susie; and his brother-in-law Tiny Schmidt.

He is survived by: his wife Geraldine "Gin" Jeffries; his daughters, Iona Jeffries and Nancy Parks (Bob Hipple) of Columbia; his daughter-in-law Renatta Jeffries; his brothers, Roger Jeffries (Nellie) of Hallsville and David Jeffries (Jane) of Columbia; and his grandchildren, Larry, Jeffrie, Shane Smith, Jessica Gray, Ryan Jeffries and Gera Parks. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
