She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Smith and Nola Smith (Nickelson); her husband John Winfield Barton; and her grandson Gage Barton. She is survived by: her children, Bonna Barton Wanek (Mike), Wendy Barton Welte (David) of Paradise Valley, AZ and John Breck Barton (Monica) of Columbia, MO; her sister-in-law Gloria Smith of Mocksville, NC; and her grandchildren, Mischa Wanek-Libman (Ron), Mary Beth French (Sean), Meg Svehla (Nick), Sara Bruno (Nick), Will Welte and Ryan Welte. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
The family welcomes contributions in Gay's memory to Little Bonne Femme Baptist Church, Columbia, MO, or one's favorite charity.
