He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bryan and Betty Jean Schmidt (Chipley); his sister Martha A. Schmidt; and his brother-in-law Harold Coleman. He is survived by: his siblings, Linda K. Coleman, Michael E. Heisler, Debra S. Heisler and Rita V. Holly (David); his son James Brandon Schmidt; and his grandchildren, Sylas Schmidt, Mason Schmidt and Kennedy Schmidt.
