He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hayes and Georgena Hayes; his parents-in-law, Charles and Vera Baskett; his son-in-law Richard Hollinger; and his grandson Evan Hollinger of Columbia.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Baskett Hayes; his children, Kim Grant (Danny), Gena Patton (Brett), Joe Hayes (Laura), Amie Hollinger Niemeyer (Mike), Kati Grant and Staci Henks (Brad) of Lee's Summit, MO.; and his grandchildren, Matt, Steve, Lindsey, Emily Grant, Michael, Heather, Brandon, Rachel Henks, Bennett Patton, Ali Noordsy, Taylor Tungesvik, Caitlin Hayes, Lexie Darrough, Anna Hollinger, Kerstie, Hayden Niemeyer, Vera, Ella and Luke Grant. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, two brothers, a sister, many nieces and nephews.
