He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert M. Barton and Maddie Barton (Rogers); and his grandson Gage Barton. He is survived by: his wife Gay (Smith) of Columbia, MO; his children, Bonna Barton Wanek (Mike), Wendy Barton Welte (David) of Paradise Valley, AZ and John Breck Barton (Monica) of Columbia, MO; his sister-in-law Gloria Smith of Mocksville, NC; and his grandchildren, Mischa Wanek-Libman (Ron), Mary Beth French (Sean), Meg Svehla (Nick), Sara Bruno (Nick), Will Welte and Ryan Welte. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Little Bonne Femme Baptist Church (5350 E Bonne Femme Church Rd, Columbia, MO 65201). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
