He was predeceased by: his parents, Colin Kerby Mitchell and Daisy Pearline Mitchell (Perry); his son Terry Lee Porter; and his brother Jerry Michell. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Stone; his children, Elaine Porter of Columbia, Sherry Porter of Columbia, Candy Goran (Jeff) of Columbia, Anita Baker (Chet) of Prairie Home, Jane Asher (John) of Columbia and Kerby Mitchell (Mary) of Columbia; his grandchildren, Brian Schler, Renee Kuhler (Matt), Michelle Porter, Joseph Porter, Tommy Goran (Tiffany), Brittny Daughtery (Jordan), Megun Blumer (Sean), Nathan Baker, Montana Beck (Brian), Gage Asher (Hannah) and Caleb Mitchell; and his siblings, Susan Brice (James) of Millersville, MO, Gary Michell (Jerry) of Athens, GA and Max Mitchell (Patsy) of Homer, AK. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
