With sadness, we share the passing of Lawrence Eugene Thomas in Columbia, Missouri. Lawrence, born on May 8, 1937, passed away on October 13, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dudley Thomas (Della Thomas) and Moriece Hopton (Moriece Whitmire); and his siblings, James, Jess Thomas, Lloyd, George, William Thomas, Juanita Cockrin and Bonnie Zuback.

He is survived by: his wife Florence Peterson; his children, Brent Thomas of Carthage, Missouri and Lisa Perry (Jon) of Carthage, Missouri; his grandchildren, Joe Thomas (Heather), Jared Thomas (Candy), Chris Perry (Casey), Stacy Sanchez (Cruz), Eric Perry (Amy), Blaine Perry (Chloe) and Marli Perry; and his great grandchildren, Justin Thomas, Savana Hill, Samantha Thomas, Jakob Thomas, Ty Perry, Cael Perry, Trey Perry, Braiden Sanchez, Lucy Sanchez, Mason Sanchez, Cole Perry, Allie Perry, Paige Perry and Berkli Perry.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ulmer Funeral Home (1208 S Garrison Ave, Carthage, MO 64836). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Contributions may be made to the Missouri Veterans Home or Fellowship Cemetery in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
