With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marlene Bopp of Columbia, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 23, 2024 at the age of 84. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Marlene Bopp to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Gerdes and Audrey Gerdes (Crabtree); and her husband Dr. Kenneth Bopp. She is survived by : her children, Shelley Hoffman (Matt) of Siloam Springs, AR and Ken Bopp (Jane) of Columbia, MO; her brother A. C. Gerdes (Susie) of Hurst, TX; her sisters-in-law, Sally Bopp and Nancy Burmeister (Jim) of Waterloo; and her grandchildren, Jonathan Hoffman (Sarah) of Conway, AR and Laura Fritz (Josh) of Siloam Springs, AR. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Memorials Orchard Hill Church (1519 W 4th St, Waterloo, IA 50702). A graveside service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Mount Vernon Evangelical Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Compass Evangelical Free Church (600 Silvey St, Columbia, MO 65203).
