She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Wells and Ada Wells; her brothers, Jesse, Willie, Leon and Leroy Wells; and her children, Shirley Barnes and Sammie Hinton.
She is survived by: her sister Hazel Veal of Victorville, California; her children, Johnnie Wells of Columbia, James Tillman (Debbie) of Columbia, Leroy Tillman of Columbia, Ivory Tillman (Vickie) of Port St, Willie Lee Tillman (Lou Ann) of Moore Haven, Florida, Bobbie Jones (AJ) of Wichita, Emma Smith (Lee) of Columbia, Melissa Tillman of Columbia and Joann Scott (George) of Orlando; her daughter-in-law Jackie Hinton; her friend Nancy Smith; and her caregiver Rosetta Walton. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 702 Banks Ave, Columbia, MO 65203. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
