He was predeceased by: his parents, John Erdel and Kay Hagan Erdel; and his brother Bill Erdel. He is survived by: his wife Becky Jane Burton; his son Grant (Ansley); his grandchildren, Hagan, Tom and Will Erdel of Washington, DC; his daughter Courtney Moses (Chuck) of Lenexa, KS; his grandchildren, Cash and Lawson Woods of Lenexa, KS; and his siblings, Dan (Cheri Erdel) of Mexico and Kathy Beykirch (Paul) of Sedalia.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pickering Funeral Home (403 N Western, Mexico, MO 65265).
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to Caring Hearts and Hands Hospice.
