He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald K. Ellis, Sr. and Carolyn T. Ellis (Mega); his wife Fern Marie Harnack; his son Michael; and his sister Geraldine "Gerrie" Iserman.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Ellis (Patty) of Columbia, MO, Scott Ellis (Lisa) of Springfield, MO, Diane Freitas (Michael) of Austin, TX and Denise Silhavy (Jonathon) of Collinsville, IL; his grandchildren, Cassie Freitas, Syd Ellis, Megan Freitas Pearson (Ace), Jacob Freitas (Hannah), Jarod Silhavy, Morgan Ellis, Simon Ellis, Taylor Ellis, Devon Silhavy, Connor Ellis and Lexi Ellis; and his brother William Ellis of St. Paul. He is also survived by his children, their spouses and his eleven grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Joplin Area Catholic Schools.
