She was predeceased by: her parents, Coretta Darlene Arthur and Howard Lee Smith, Sr.; and her brother Howard Lee "Bubbles" Smith, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Deronne Wilson and Billie Wilson of Kansas City, Missouri; her grandson Isaiah Wilson of Denver, Colorado; and her significant other James Carter of Columbia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
