He was predeceased by : his parents, Louis Oetting and Lorna Alewel Oetting; and his brother Wendel Oetting. He is survived by : his wife Marty; his children, Gina Martens (Jeff) of Concordia and Derek Oetting (Jennifer) of Bryson City, NC; his grandchildren, Kerstin Martens, Adrien Martens and Carden Oetting; and his siblings, Ron Oetting of Overland Park, KS, Bill Oetting of Olathe, KS, Harold Oetting of Concordia and Marilyn Holsten of Higginsville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Memorials are suggested to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Saint Paul Lutheran High School or St. Paul's Grade School.
