With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elsie Mae Smith of Conway, Missouri, born in Seymour, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 27, 2026 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Gallion and Ida Gallion (Kleier); her husband James Smith; her son James Smith, Jr.; her great grandchild Jonathan Hougardy; and her siblings, James Gallion, Jessie Gallion, Kathy Garfit, Linda Owens, Sue Sampson and Gene Gallion.

She is survived by: her children, Bobby J. Smith of Kansas City, MO and Kimberly Hougardy (John) of Conway; and her siblings, Alice Ragsdale of Seymour, Richard Gallion of Seymour, Carol Gardner of Marshfield and Henry Gallion of Springfield. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
