He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Church; his spouse Bernyce J.; his daughter Kathleen Bumberry (William); his granddaughters, Dr. Laura Bumberry Schuman (Steve) and Meghan Malof (Jeremy); and his great grandchildren, Ben, Tommy, Anna and Mason.

In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred or donations may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children's Foundation.

“Kathy, I send my deepest sympathy. I remember your dad as vigorous with a bigger than life personality. It was fun being in his presence. Our parents had so much fun together at international Kiwanis conventions, as did we. Our dads were special to us and we have our memories to cherish . You are blessed that he was able to be independent for so long and was able to go peacefully. I know you are grateful for that. I write this with great affection. Terry Wilson Shafer”
