He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Shields and Alice Shields; his son Dan Shields; and his siblings, Rich Shields (late Jackie), Ben Shields (MaryEllen), Alice Raftery (late Jerry), Pat Tippett (late Denny), Mary Lou Brown and Sandy Marchand.

He is survived by: his wife Natalie Shields; his children, Glen Shields (Judy), Brian Shields and Matt Shields; his grandchildren, Megan Hubble (Justin), Brendan Shields (Kylie), Cody Shields (Sam), Kylie Shields, Mattie Hancock, Abby and Shelby; his great grandchildren, Brooks, Beckham, Aniya, Camden, Sienna, Sawyer and Callum; his siblings, Jim Shields (Melanie), Irene Davis (late Bill) and Brenda Maycock (Greg); and his brothers-in-law, Jim Brown (Nancy) and Ron Marchand.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Hutchens-Stygar Funeral & Cremation Center (5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St Charles, MO 63304).
