She is survived by: her husband Hari; her children, Ragini Patel (Hari) and Alpesh Patel (Asmita); her grandchildren, Ravi Patel (Maura), Chandni Helms (Spiker), Maahi Patel and Aryan Patel; her great grandchildren, Ara Helms, Levana Patel and Shia Helms; and her brothers, Kantibhai Patel (Indiraben) and Chandrakant Patel (Dipakben).

In her later years, Alzheimer's disease changed Urmila's memory, but it never completely reached the instincts that had defined her life.
