He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Vanhooser and Rose Vanhooser (Brown); his wife Ella Mae Vanhooser; and his siblings, Kenneth Vanhooser and Mary Hoover.

He is survived by: his children, Darrel Vanhooser (Rene) of Aurora, CO, Debbie Worthington (Randy) of Dadeville, MO and Brad Vanhooser (Susan) of Dadeville, MO; his grandchildren, Darris Vanhooser (Marsha), Nicole Vanhooser, Dalton Vanhooser (Kimberly), Josh Worthington (Corry), Brian Worthington (Sarah), Ben Vanhooser (Audra) and Andrew Vanhooser (Julie); and his great grandchildren, Nathan Vanhooser, Audrey Vanhooser, Lydia Vanhooser, Wriston Worthington, Grayson Worthington, Corbin Worthington, Tate Worthington, Boone Worthington, Asa Vanhooser, Beau Vanhooser and Paul Vanhooser. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
