He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Hicks and Jewell Hicks; his stepfather Norman "Jesse" James; his brothers, William R. Hicks and Norman K. James; and his sister-in-law Flora James.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Hicks; his siblings, Lisa Fadler (Larry) and Darrell James; and his sister-in-law Katie James. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home (220 N Main St, De Soto, MO 63020). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Dietrich-Mothershead Chapel (220 N Main St, De Soto, MO 63020).
