He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hancock and Zampa Hancock (Childers); and his siblings, George W. Hancock, Jr., Leona Longnecker and Clara Woodson.
He is survived by: his children, David J. Hancock Jr., Marsha L. Gilliam and George W. Hancock. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
