He was predeceased by : his parents, Roy Edgar Briggs and Mary Briggs (Varner); and his siblings, Uel Briggs, Glen Briggs, Lester Briggs and Wilma McKeaigg.

He is survived by : his wife Carol Elaine Sanders; his children, James Eric Briggs (Rebecca), Jason Alan Briggs (Andrea) and Jamie Leanne (Briggs) Ketterman (Jackson); his grandchildren, Brittany (Briggs), Essma (Michael), Ryan Briggs, Ragan (Briggs), DuBoise (Josh), Adam Briggs (Lexi), Matt Jones (Maddy), Molly (Briggs), Wray (Tanner), Kaylee Briggs, Draiden Briggs, Esther Briggs, Kaiden Ketterman, Colby Ketterman and Holt Ketterman; his great grandchildren, Logan James DuBoise, Samuel James Essma and Marlee Jones; and his siblings, Shelby Briggs (Marilyn), Clyde Briggs (Donna), Bonnie Winter, Shirley Murphy (Joe) and Esther Singer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, and these donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
