He was predeceased by: his father Michael P. Mullen, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Mary Mullen (Decorah); his wife Michelle Mullen (Hayes); his sons, Matthew, James, John and William; and his brothers, Michael II, Daniel, Timothy and Edward. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles, cousins and many nieces and nephews.

“I am so sorry to hear of Matty's passing. I have fond memories of parties at Auntie Sue and Uncle Dannny's home with all of us kids hanging out together. And even though I only saw "The Boys" (as I called them) every now and again, the warmth and good feelings of all the Mullens still remain dear to me.
