He was predeceased by: his parents, James Stewart McClain and Minnie McClain (McGowin); his wife Brenda Sue Hessling; his children, Billy Jay McClain, Debbie Ferguson and Kadie McClain; his brothers, James Kenneth McClain, Bobby Baggett and J. C. Wright; his grandson Christopher McClain; and his great grandchild Carmella McClain.

He is survived by: his children, Mark McClain (Brenda) of Bismark, Missouri, Daniel Slavings (Brenda) of Dexter, Robert Slavings (Beth) of Bernie, Bobby Slavings (Teresa) of Dexter, Jeff McClain (Natasha) of Bernie, Barbara Brown (Randy) of Jefferson City, Michelle Waters (Chris) of Dexter, Tracy Smith (Joe) of Chaffee and Melissa Mclard of Bernie; and his sister Judy Wright of Sebring, Florida. He is also survived by thirty-three grandchildren and forty-nine great-grandchildren; also by a host of family and friends.
