She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy "Poss" Meritt and Pauline Barfield Meritt; her grandson Jacob Ryan Brase; and her siblings, Tom "Sonny" Meritt, Robert Meritt and Marjorie McGuire.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Peters (Kathy) of Perkasie, Ronald Peters (Nicole) of Denton, Todd Peters (Kim) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Valerie Walker of Jefferson City and Rhonda Brase (Rick) of Bloomfield, Missouri. She is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mathis Funeral Home (125 W Stoddard St, Dexter, MO 63841). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Walker Cemetery (20016 Co Rd 510, Bloomfield, MO 63825).
