He was predeceased by : his parents, J. D. Overbey and Pearley Wadley Overbey; his son Robert Patrick Overbey; and his siblings, Sonny, Jim, Bill Overbey, Maryjo Ashcraft and Melba "Monk" Senter.

He is survived by : his wife Jane Overbey; his sons, Jeff Overbey (Tammy) of Arlington and Jonathan Overbey (Kim) of Springville; his grandchildren, Brittany Hadley (Austin), Hope Hubbell (Kevin), Kyle Overbey (Kendra) and Jordan Durden; and the mother of his children Bobbie Prince. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
