He was predeceased by : his parents, James Perry Stogsdill and Elizabeth Francis Boulware Stogsdill; : his wife Verda Ryan; his children, James Ronald Stogsdill and Sandy Gaudreault; and his siblings, Raymond, Leona, Lorene, Opal and Ruby.

He is survived by his daughters, Leah Stogsdill of Bernie, Jackie Kelley of Piggott, Betty Rainey of Granite City and Kathy McCarty of White Oak, Texas; and his sisters, Helen Patton of Rolla and Bonnie Curtis of Bristol, Virginia. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; by twenty-three great-grandchildren; and by three great-great-grandchildren.
