With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Stroup of Dexter, Missouri, born in Gideon, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 23, 2026 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Earl Cobb and Emma Lou Cobb (Perdue); her son Gary Stroup; and her siblings, Daniel, Gerald, Joseph, David Cobb, Loraine Gernon, Anna Pratt and Sheri Nizinski.
She is survived by: her husband William Stroup (Bill); her daughters, Kimberly Stroup Smith (Jimmy) of Dexter and Erin Lunn of Bernie, Missouri; her daughter-in-law Vanessa Stroup of Dexter; her grandchildren, Zachary Smith (Hannah) of Scott City, Cassie (Lance) of Dexter, Seth of Dexter, Noah Smith of Dexter, Zeke, Bella Lunn of Bernie and Ariana Colove of Dexter; her great grandchildren, Kodi Smith, Evelyn, Audrey, Julien Kindzierski and Amora Colove; her brothers, James and Bill Cobb; her uncle Eldon; her aunt Rosemary Stroup; and her extended family, MaryJane Jenkin, Jeffery Chastain, Kenny Chastain, Catrina Dawson (Terry), Shelby and Rylee Dawson. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
