He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert A. Ellis and Gladys Twitty Johnson; and his brothers, Jesse Shepard, Frank Shepard, Everett Shepard, Lester Shepard and Paul Pratt.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara McCollough; and his sisters, Dorothy McCollough of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Patsy Dorris of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Carol Stewart of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and close friends.
