We announce the death of Ron Atherton (Dexter, Missouri), who passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 75. Ron will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond "Pete" Atherton and Lillian Lucille Ragsdel Atherton; his grandson Jaiden Charles Atherton; his siblings, Marion Dwain Atherton and Barbara Gard; and his brothers-in-law, Gary Crane and Don Gard.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Ann "Judi" Pike; his sons, Michael Shannon Atherton (Amber) of Dexter and Nicholas Pike Atherton (Julia) of O'Fallon, Missouri; his sisters, Judy Lincoln (Jim) of Eldon, Patty Greene (Jim) of Springfield and Norma Crane of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Addyson Jayde Atherton and Charles Edward Atherton; his great grandchildren, Jayden and Conor; and his siblings-in-law, Mariedda Atherton of Dexter, Missouri, Edward Pike (Carolyn) of Sikeston, Danny Pike (Lynn) of Memphis, Tennessee and Bobbi Hadley (Doyle) of Sikeston, Missouri.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mathis Funeral Home (125 W Stoddard St, Dexter, MO 63841). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
