She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Hathaway and Mary Varga Hathaway Pendleton; her husband Art; her daughters, Sandra Giles and Barbara Prince; and her siblings, Frank Hathaway, Carolyn DePreist, Mary Porter and Audrey Shadwick.
She is survived by: her children, Lynn Gates (Dave), Ross Giles (Donna), David Giles, Debra Williams, Helen Kemp (Keith) and Carl Giles (Donna); and her sister Barbara Francisco. She is also survived by 20 Grandchildren, 41 Great Grandchildren and 13 Great Great Grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary (3701 E 7th St, Joplin, MO 64801).
She also loved to donate her handmade beautiful items for others.
