He was predeceased by: his parents, James McElroy and Minnie Dean Sweet McElroy; his son Timothy Lee McElroy; and his siblings, Johnfer Joe McElroy, Margaret Privett and Sharon Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Shannon Davis (Lyle) of Puxico, Joe McElroy (Stephanie) of Sikeston, Greg McElroy of New Madrid and Patricia Cohen (Benny); and his sisters, Shirley James of Sikeston and Sheila Baker of Sikeston. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
