He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Gordon and Lillian Marie Garrett (Long); his son Eugene Wayne Garrett; and his brothers, Jerry Dee Garrett and Arlie Dwayne Garrett.

He is survived by: his wife Bertha Garrett of Downing, Missouri; his children, Alan Garrett (Kristina) of Downing, Bobby Garrett (Joy) of Downing, Pat Garrett and Stephanie Garrett; and his stepchildren, Arthur Watson of Indiana, Mike Phillips (Teri) of Cameron, Tammy Garmoe (Phil) of Willmathsville, Rose Bryant of Connecticut and Kathy Arnold. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and many good friends.
