He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Scherer and Beulah Scherer (Wrinkles); his siblings, Wanda Woolman and Basil Wrinkles; and his siblings-in-law, Oneal Luellen, Agnes Williams, Anna Collins, Ella May Dougherty and Billy Hurst.
He is survived by: his wife Bertha Hurst; his sister Linda Mozie; and his pet Bitsy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews; several friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hurst Cemetery.
