It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Calvin Lafayette Campbell (East Prairie, Missouri), who passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayman McElroy and Helen Campbell; his wife Edna Campbell; his siblings, Jimmy Lee Campbell (Gloria) of Suffolk, Geraldine McElroy, Tina Campbell, Dyrnell Campbell, Sylvia Campbell and Angela Campbell; his siblings-in-law, Luther Murray, George Murray, Richard Murray, Katherine McCauley, Estella Coleman and Ruby Johnson; and his grandchildren, Demetrieal Gillespie and Calvin Murray.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Murray (Angela) of East Prairie, Calvin Campbell, Jr. of Phoenix, Waymon Campbell (Jaime) of Cape Girardeau and Lavonda Thompson (Roosevelt) of Kansas City; his siblings, Johnny Campbell of Cape Girardeau, Waymon McElroy, Jr. of Kansas City, Frederick McElroy of Kansas City, Nathan Campbell of Kansas City, Robert Campbell (Kathy) of Wilmington, Anthony McElroy of Farmington, Lucille Murray of Charleston and Ethel McElroy of Kansas City; his brothers-in-law, Jack Murray (Barbara) of Charleston and Norman Murray (Elizabeth) of Charleston; his stepmother Mamie McElroy of Kansas City; and his sister-in-law Gloria Murray of Charleston. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
