“I work nights at Sholom West, a nursing home where Tom came to stay. He was on my unit, and I would see him at night. We shared a lot of things in common, old movies, t.v. stars of long ago, favorite restaurants, and the biggest thing we both had a love for was our parrot, Popeye, our African Grey parrot, oh he loved her. I am her caretaker and I would share stories of Popeye to Tom, he loved my stories, he would listen to me so intently. I will miss having our talks, Tom was very special”
