Sonja Mclanahan wrote a sympathy message

“Jerry I will miss your sense of humor. I will never forget when I was growing up and we on Uncle Babe and Aunt Mickey farm and the first time I ate a persimmon. You picked it and said eat they are so sweet and I started to bite into it and you said take a real big bite. And dumb me did as you said that was the bitterest thing I ever ate. You laughed so hard. I remember the last talked we had was at Aunt Ruth funeral catching up a little of what you were doing on the farm. Love you Sonja”
