He was predeceased by: his parents, Paris Varney and Celia Harris Varney; and his daughter Carolyn King. He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Zak (Bob) of St. Louis and Linda Jean Wright (Larry) of Isabella, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Tammy Treece (Steve), Melissa Langford (Watson), Mike Foster (Cathy), Julie Lane (Brian), Eddie Bagley and Ronnie King (Erica); and his close friend Bonnie Darrow of Lebanon, MO. He is also survived by six grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren.
