He was predeceased by : his parents, Bernard Garrett and Eileen Wolfe Garrett; his wife Donna Lucille Garrett; and his son Michael Gene Garrett, Jr.. He is survived by : his daughter Kelly Duerden (James Kepler) of Eldridge, MO; his grandchildren, Krystle, Franklin, Kristopher, Austin, Keyla, Michael III and Magan; and his siblings, Marty Garrett (Shelly) of Warsaw, MO, Patrick Garrett of Willard, MO and Sandy Redenger of Willard, MO. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
