He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Pursell and Ruth Pursell (Atteberry); his former wife Suzanne Pursell (Montgomery); his niece Mekelle Kohout (Pursell); and his brother-in-law Charles M. Leslie.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia'Tippy'; his children, Mary Gale Lininger (Wade), James Daniel Pursell Jr., Charles Lee Pursell (Nikki) and Elizabeth Brown; his grandchildren, Nolan Lininger, Mary Pursell (Dylan), Hannah Pursell, Benny Brown and Serenity Tunnell; and his siblings, Jerry Pursell (Joan) and Donna Leslie. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
