He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Lester and Sible Mae Smith (Clark). He is survived by: his son Keith Laird Smith (Debra); his grandchildren, Katherine Anne Smith (Chris), Elyssa Lynnette Smith (Kasey), Kurt Erik Smith (Maddy) and Lacey Nicole Morgan (Jonah); and his great grandchildren, Atreus Jordan Smith, Henrietta "Etta" Lyn Smith, Indigo "Lottie" Charlotte Smith, Jericho Lee Morgan and Oliver Wayne Morgan.

The family suggests memorials to the Elmer Baptist Church or Samaritan's Purse.
