He is survived by: his wife Barbara Norvel (Luck); his sister-in-law Donna Norvel; his children, Lesa (Whiteside), DeWayne Whiteside (Patricia Whiteside) and Darrell Whiteside (Meredith Whiteside); his grandchildren, Alicia Phillips (Jon Phillips), Duncan Whiteside, Lydia Whiteside, Lori Simpson (Charles Simpson III), Adam Cohea (Sarah Cohea) and Andrew Cohea; his great grandchildren, Charles, Michael, Cameron, Wyatt, Sophia Simpson, Ian, Owen, Ashlyn, Leighton and Jackson Cohea; and his nieces and nephews, Ruthie, Dwane, Angie, Melinda, Margaret and Christopher.
