He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Lysander and Cora Pauline Smith (Harris); his wife Connie Rae Behring; and his siblings, John Smith, Carl Smith, Mike Smith, Ellis Smith, David Smith, Terry Schaffer and Rita Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Greg Smith (Courtney) of Monroe City and Steve Smith of Emden, Missouri.; his grandchildren, Rachel Wiedemeier (Connor), Lauren Sprenger (Christopher), Abigail Smith and Zach Smith; his siblings, Pat Smith, Marge O'Donnell and Phyliss Foster; and his close friend Vicki Reynolds. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Garner Funeral Home & Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri (315 N Vine St, Monroe City, MO 63456). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri (315 N Vine St, Monroe City, MO 63456).
