It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernice Taylor of Essex, Missouri, who passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Shaw and Ernestine (Harris); her children, Vincent Dennis, Brenda Dennis and Angela Dennis; and her brothers, Lee Shaw and Joe Shaw.
She is survived by: her husband Cleveland Taylor; her children, Iasiah Dennis of Parma, Alonzo Harris (Salena) of Columbia, Archard Dennis of Sikeston, Anthony Dennis of Columbia, Jannie Bell of Sikeston, Tina Norwood of Columbia and Viola Lott (Joe) of Sikeston, Missouri.; and her siblings, Benny (Geneva) of Elkart, Oscar Shaw of Malden, Alfreda Shaw of Malden, Elsie Hester (Charles) of St. Louis, Dorothy Shaw of Malden and Fannie Farr (Henry) of Malden, Missouri.. She is also survived by thirty-three grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Watkins Funeral Homes - Dexter (301 N Walnut St, Dexter, MO 63841). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
