He was predeceased by: his parents, John Taylor Garton and Eva Garton (Nickel); his wife Barbara Garton (Cantrell); his in-laws, Ruth and Vincent Cantrell; and his siblings, Lucille, Harry, Gene, Ethel, Joanna, Wren and Jane.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Wade (Cathy), Jeff (Betty), Rodger (Dana) and Susan (Jeff Caruthers); his grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah of Tracy, JD, Kayla (Zach Farmer), Adam (Anna) and Ashlyn; his great grandchildren, Xander, Mason, Cooper, Tinley, Quinn and Aidan; and his siblings, Glen (Mary Ann), Joyce and John. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary's honor may be made to the Kearney Missouri Senior Center or Harbor Hospice of Plattsburg, Missouri.
