He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph E. Morgan and Patria Mae Morgan (Collins); his brother Patrick Morgan; his brother-in-law Charlie Roberts; his nephew Thomas K. Morgan; his great-nephew Robert Gantt, Jr.; and his parents-in-law, Ramon and Joyce Mercer.

He is survived by: his wife Sonya Morgan; his children, Courtney Cole (Jason) and Joseph Morgan (Darci); his granddaughter Mackenzie Cole; his sisters, Shannon Morgan, Molly Roberts and Jill; his siblings-in-law, John Clark of Excelsior Springs, Verna Morgan, Lisa Nave and Dallas Mercer (Laura); and his close friend Joe McAtee (Marcia).
