He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Carder; his grandson Eagle Scouts; his son Richard Atkinson (Michelle) of Smithville, MO; his grandchildren, Morgan Atkinson and Molli Atkinson of Smithville, MO; his sister Donelda Stockwell (David) of Hilton, NY; his uncle Mart Atkinson (Delphine) of Excelsior Springs, MO; and his brother Monty Freeman (Jeanne) of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
