Mary Ann Holt Cox Obituary
Mary Ann Holt was born on February 18, 1947 in Lawson, Mo., to Raymond E. and Vendah Rhea Carpenter Holt. Her grandparents were James Curtis and Nora Dagley Holt and Charles Lynn and Savannah Cochran Carpenter. Mary graduated from Lawson High School in May 1965 and married Richard Nathon Cox on June 6 of the same year.Mary gave birth to Christine Renee on November 23, 1966 and again on September 17, 1971 to Lisa Ann. At Mary's behest, the family converted to Catholicism in the mid-seventies; she was a member of St. Ann's in Excelsior Springs. Mary became a grandmother in 1997 upon the birth of Nathan Paul and again in 2001 upon the birth of Olivia Christine.Mary spent her early adulthood as a nurse's aide at Excelsior Springs Hospital. From the mid-seventies through the nineties, she was co-owner and Vice-President of Cox Tool Company, Inc. In later adulthood, Mary participated in a variety of community services.Mary is survived by former husband of 34 years; daughter, Lisa Hall; son-in-law, Jason Hall; two grandchildren; sister, Donna Munsterman; niece, Candi Munsterman; cousin, Susi Seely; partner, Robert Hickmon; and members of his extended family. Mary was made whole and perfect on February 17, 2015 when our Divine Creator called her Home to join daughter Christy, parents and grandparents. A Scripture Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs, Mo.She will be memorialized at Hillcrest Cemetery.
